Chicago Suburbs, IL (November 4, 2024) – At Rise Up for Autism, we believe in the power of connection and kindness. That's why we're thrilled to announce our partnership with APEX Hospice and Palliative Care on a heartwarming project called "Hospice Heart Pals."
This unique initiative brings together our amazing young learners with seniors receiving end-of-life care. Our talented children, ages 2-6, are creating beautiful artwork inspired by the stories and interests of APEX Hospice patients.
Imagine the smiles on the faces of these seniors as they receive personalized artwork made with love by our little artists! This project not only brightens their day but also helps our children develop empathy, compassion, and a sense of community.
Here's how it works:
- APEX Hospice nurses shared information about their patients' hobbies, interests, and favorite things with our Rise Up for Autism centers.
- Our creative kids then poured their hearts into making unique artwork for each patient.
- In November, the children will proudly present their masterpieces to the APEX nurses, who will then deliver the art and share the joy with their patients.
While these presentations are not publicly accessible, we're excited to share the schedule below, showcasing the impactful work of Hospice Heart Pals:
- November 13, 2024 – 2:30 p.m.: 231 E Indian Trail Rd, Aurora, IL 60505.
- November 15, 2024 – 3:00 p.m.: 4901 N Kedzie Ave, Chicago, IL 60625.
- November 21, 2024 – 10:30 a.m.: 131 Collins St, Joliet, IL 60432.
- November 21, 2024 – 11:30 a.m.: 8505 183rd St d, Tinley Park, IL 60487.
We believe this project is a beautiful example of how even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference in the lives of others.
